Has anyone else around here noticed that every short that we trash draws the response: "Well everyone else on the internet liked it".

I pose the questions. Are we more discerning about films around here or are we a bunch of reactionary freaks?

    reactionary freaks.
There is some deluded philosophy floating around here that thinks that critism and honest opinion is a good thing.

    I suspected as much.

I can't believe we have the gall to actually state our opinions about things rather than doing some meaningless ego massaging. My God, the internet police should shut us down as soon as possible.

I mean, think of the kiddies. What is the world coming to when there's actual disagreement about a subjective matter.

If everyone else on the 'net liked that film then I'd better change my opinion right now. It is the greatest film ever made. Hands down. No backsies.

Oh yeah...and what was that crap about this being an Irish led forum?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Stephen St Leger was alluding to the Irish tendency towards the deprecation of peers (The implication being we didn?t like the film because we were so damned jealous). This is not an Irish led forum by any stretch of the imagination. Of the core members, of whom there are about 15 or 20, only 2 are Irish.

Yeah, that's what I couldn't understand. People post on this board from all over the place. I think he'd kust read Generic Skinhead's comments and assumed this was some Irish filmmaking community.

Well I watched the trailer, Im not sure what all the 'venomous' comments about it are all about.
If its a low budget film then its an extraordinary acheivement. Certainly the trailer on a par with most high octane blockbusters.

The difference may be that most stuff on this forum is ultralowbudget - ie none at all, and comes across less corporate and obvious than this one. Certainly less slick. And they appear to be more original.

Other than that I expect there is a lot of "Prey Alone" production team backslapping going on.

Hope it all goes well for you.
